SIPAM – IMPORTANT WORLD AGRICULTURAL HERITAGE SYSTEMS

Go back in time together with us within the landscapes determined specifically by biology and living culture, they are part of unique agricultural systems that remain intact that have been created, formed and maintained from generation to generation of our ancestor farmers, engineering in the knowledge and the experience that diverse human groups evolved in this valley of Cuyo-Cuyo. the diversity of their knowledge and their deep relationship with nature.

Platforms, terraces or leg legs. On hillsides, for water harvesting, and conservation and improvement of soil fertility.

In the Inambari basin, they are connected to canal systems for the irrigation of corn, potato, ocas, and broad bean crops. In the altiplano basin, they are almost in general dry. The few areas of terraces under irrigation are for early planting of potatoes, called maguey in Quechua and milli in Aymara.

We also want to tell you that we are halfway to the plantations of the best coffee on the planet (CAFÉ TUNKI) near the BAHUAJA SONENE national park. It was considered in an international fair organized by the American Association of Specialty Coffees as the best in the world, leaving behind other beans from Colombia, Guatemala or Kenya.

There, in the Sandia Valley, Wilson Sucaticona decided to undertake the plantations on only three hectares. without thinking that his coffee would later reach North America, Europe and Asia.
